Kids Art Classes - with City of Pinole

The Pinole Artisans are partnering with the City of Pinole to Provide some wonderful art classes over the next few months! Mark your calendars! We'll post the link to register for these classes as soon as the City has it ready to go!


Screen Printing with Chris Granillo - April 5, 3-5pm

Create a one-of-a-kind tote bag using the art of screen printing! In this hands-on workshop led by local artist and teacher Chris Granillo, kids will learn the basics of screen printing and have the chance to create their own unique design using water-based inks with fabric markers, stamps and stencils. Welcomed to bring a blank t-shirt to print on ( 1 per student ). Tote bags and all other materials will be provided.


Mixed Media Art with Ambrose Chan and Nadine Robbins-Laurent - May 10, 10-12


Our Mixed Media course will introduce a few different creative approaches to our students. We will demonstrate neurographic art and suminagashi (paper marbling) - both can be used to crate free-form abstract images. Attendees will have the freedom and opportunity to focus on the two techniques individually or in a combined manner to make mixed media pieces.


Watercolor Painting with Penny Bledsoe, Paint a Giraffe - May 24, 10 to 1

This class will introduce children to the basics of Watercolor painting by painting this colorful giraffe. How to mix and blend colors, how to apply color and how to control water. General knowledge about the differences in watercolor paint and paper. They will also learn different brush stroke to achieve different effects, and different techniques to achieve different textures in their painting.


Tin Art with Vickie Resso, June 14, 10 to 12

Mexican tin art is a form of Mexican folk art made by pressing delicate lines into metal and adding vibrant colors. This class is great for kids aged 8 and up. Suggested designs will be provided but students can also make their own engraved creation.
